North End outage throws political sparks

Politics go postal over lot

Hennigan said state law stipulates that if the city's Off-Street Parking Facilities Board entered into a long-term lease with the post office, it would have to replace the same number of spaces it removed. Instead, she said, because the board voted to turn over a portion of the lot to the Department of Neighborhood Development two months ago, it removed itself from any responsibility to compensate the public for the loss of 62 spaces. ...
